Tell me about yourself and how you feel about being a woman over the age of 40.
I am Tracy Lawhon, single mother of two. Gracie is 17 and Nash is 15. We moved to Centeron, AR 3.5 years ago. I feel that this time in my life is very exciting, I am more comfortable and confident in my own skin and have found joy in all the little things in life!
When do you feel most confident?
When I am working, as a Massage Therapist, Getting to help people who come in feeling not so great and when they leave, their whole outlook has changed for the better. Or when they just come in for a relaxing Massage to let go of the stress of the day or a particular situation and they leave completely relaxed and rejuvenated.
How did your painful times give you the gift of resilience?
After a very unexpected experience in my life, I got the opportunity, to rethink what I wanted to do with my life. When I finally decided on Massage Therapy as a career, I went back to school got my license and started a whole new life for myself and my kids. I learned that you can do anything that you put your mind to at any age even learning Anatomy and Physiology! It also, showed me that you are never too old to start over, there will always be new opportunity's waiting for you to explore! Also, showing my kids that hard work and determination, my faith, and a "no give up" attitude will always see you through.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Dream Big, take chances even thought they might not end as you expect. Work hard and make sure you are grounded in your faith in God
What would you tell other mature women about stepping out of their comfort zone and doing a photo shoot?
Do it! It will liberate you and let you see how others may view you
