I almost didn't have pictures of my mom.

One day your children will look for pictures of you. What will they find?

I almost didn't have pictures of my mom. 6 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. We decided to take a family trip to Silver Dollar City before she started treatment. She accepted every opportunity to get our picture taken by their staff. At the end she purchased packages for my brother and me.

She gave them to us and said, “There. Now we have updated family pictures and you have pictures of me.”

That stabbed me in the heart. I’m a photographer and I hadn’t photographed one of the people that means most to me. She beat cancer and I have beautiful pictures of her now. But I almost didn’t. If she had passed away in a car accident I would have looked for pictures of her and only found ones from 25+ years ago.

I’m speaking on behalf of your children. They want pictures of you. And you are worthy of having beautiful pictures of yourself.

Here is the latest photo shoot I did for my parents. Look how cute they are! I will treasure these for a lifetime.
